Ministry Update: August 2023

Hello, family!  The day is almost here!  We have had a wonderful time traveling around the country for the last few months, visiting friends, family, and churches.  Thank you to everyone who hosted us!  We are overwhelmed by the support we have felt from you.  We have so many amazing stories showing how much your prayers and God’s providence have helped us along the way as we have checked off the long list of boxes.  As I write this, we are only two short weeks away from our flight to Okinawa, Japan on 21 August.  We are excited to get there and get started, but sad to be leaving so many friends and family.

Our journey began with us leaving Centerville, OH on 2 June and culminated with us arriving in Chesaw, WA on 29 July.  We covered over 7,000 miles with only one minor car issue (flat tire).  Praise God for His travel blessings!  Once we arrived in Washington, we had quite a few administrative items to finish.  We were able to get our Washington Driver Licenses, which will help us to get our International Driver Licenses and, eventually, our Japanese Driver Licenses (prayers needed for that last one… the test is very difficult!).  We also went to the Japanese Embassy in Seattle to finish up our Visas.  We should be receiving those any day now (please pray for that, too!).  Throughout the summer, we have been searching for a place to live in Okinawa.  Well, thank you all for your prayers there… we found a house which looks great and even has a small yard (still some details to work out, though, so keep praying)!  We are feeling very blessed by the Lord and thankful for all the prayer warriors interceding for us.  You guys are awesome!
