Wagner Family Ministry Update September 2023

Hello, family!  We have arrived in Okinawa!  Glory to God!  We have been here for three weeks.  We want to share some great testimony about how your prayers are impacting us.  We got here with many boxes to check, and it seemed like every time we tried to check one, we would find out about seven more tasks to complete.  We were pretty discouraged, and then James got very sick. We had not even set up our health care here, and the Japanese system was very intimidating.  Suddenly, we started hearing from our prayer warrior friends… “How can we pray for you?”  We shared what was happening, they started praying, and James was feeling better within hours!  Praise God!  He is good!  We need your prayers.  We feel your prayers.  Thank you! We have checked many boxes since then, both boys are healthy, and we are feeling like we have a much firmer foundation here.

We are in our house now (photo at top).  Hallelujah!  Our home is near the Zakimi Castle ruins (photo of view from the ruins at top).  This was a strategic headquarters for the Okinawan Ryukyu people long ago.  It rests, as does our house, at the top of a great hill in our town of Yomitan.  I (Mandy) was walking uphill to our house yesterday morning when Holy Spirit reminded me of our ministry verse, Matthew 5:14-16.  We ARE a city on a hill.  We WILL let our light shine before Okinawa, so they may praise our Father in heaven!

We have already made many connections with new ministries on the island.  We also have plans to reunite/connect with old/new neighbors here.  Pray for us to have confident Japanese language skills and Holy Spirit guidance.
