Ministry Update Letter – September 2025

Dear family and friends,

Greetings and Happy September to you!  It has been a whirlwind of a summer for the Wagner family!  We spent the better part of the summer months traveling around the US seeing family and friends.  It has been two years since we have been back to America, and it was a beautiful and full trip!  We had so many opportunities to share about the miraculous things God is doing here in Okinawa.  It was a tremendous blessing to spend time with those of you we had the pleasure of visiting.  We missed seeing many, but there is always next time!

In lieu of our usual monthly newsletter (the next full newsletter will come out in October), we wanted to write a quick note to say how grateful we are for all of you.  One thing that was incredibly clear all summer long was how invested you all are in what God is doing here.  You are praying for us!  Many of you are supporting us financially.  We couldn’t possibly do what we are doing without you!  God is moving, and your prayers are working.  Thank you!!

As we head into this next season, we are wanting to hone our focus.  It is our heart’s desire to be intentional with every moment.  Please join us in praying for the following areas:

  • New one-on-one discipleship relationships that are already budding.  Pray for us to have wisdom and discernment as we pour into new people.
  • Bible studies we normally lead are starting back up.  Pray for our leadership of these communities to be sound and Holy Spirit-filled.  Pray that we are always “rightly dividing” the Word of God for those who are trusting us.
  • Pray for salvation for Chinami and Masato, friends we have been sharing the gospel with for years now.  Pray for us to be faithful to the message and for their eyes to be opened.
  • Pray for our family.  We believe our sons are always our primary mission field.  Erik is in 11th grade and James is in 9th grade.  Pray for godly community and friendships for them.  Pray for their passion for Jesus to grow deeper every day.  Pray for Erik specifically as he begins to consider his next steps toward college and a career.
  • Pray for Yomitan International Church.  We help guide the church with lead pastor, Daniel Kennedy.  Pray for us to be a closely knit team.  Pray for clear communication and a practical understanding of God’s heart for every day at YIC!

How can we pray for you?  Send us back a quick message.  Let us know how you are doing and how we can pray for you and your family in this season.  Again, we are so grateful for each of you.  Thank you for your faithfulness to us!

With Much Love and Thanks,

The Wagners (David, Mandy, Erik, and James)
